A meeting with parents from K-2 was held on Wednesday afternoon, 20th Aug to explain the National Quality Standard and what this will mean for our children.

Early childhood programs from K-2 will be required to meet the National Quality Standard. Schools are required in 2015 to self-assess on the standards and to plan to make improvements. One of the key components of the seven areas of the national Quality Standard, “Collaborative partnerships with families and communities” was discussed at the meeting. We want parents to be involved with their children’s education and with our school.

Three questions were posed at the meeting for discussion and feedback. They are:

• What can Castletown Primary School do to better help all families feel comfortable and welcome to our school?
• How can we facilitate effective communication with families?
• What would you like Castletown PS to look like, feel like and sound like?

Parent feedback on these questions is invited and welcomed. Put your thoughts and suggestions in an envelope and send to the office. Thank you in advance for your inputs.
