The WA Education Department has a number of brochures about how you can help your child learn available online.  Click on the link below to go to the Department website to access these brochures.  Each brochure has some great ideas/activities that you can do to encourage your child.

The Kidspot website also has some great ideas and activities that can help develop your child's skills in english and maths.  It also has great science ideas and experiments that you can do at home.  This is an Australian website that has great parenting ideas and tips.

Kindergarten - Year 1/2

If you have an ipad (two of the apps are also available for android) - any of the eggy alphabet apps are a great resource.  Priced from $2-$4 these are fun, interactive and Australian! They are created by the makers of the ABC Reading Eggs Program. This link will show you all the apps that are currently available.

Maths Websites for all ages

This website has many different games/activities that can help build your child's skills in maths.

The money section will allow you to choose Australian currency.

The measurement section will allow you to use the metric units that Australia uses.

The site also explains quite well the different maths concepts.

The following website has online games that require children to answer maths questions to play.  These are more suitable for middle to upper students, although there are some games suitable for younger students.  As this is an American website, the money games will be in American currency.

Just a reminder that the recommended screen time (which includes TV, ipad/tablets, computers) is no more than 2 hours per day, especially during daylight hours (Department of Health).
