Athletics Carnival

Our Athletics Carnival is approaching fast and we would love more Parent Help to ensure it runs smoothly.

Our Athletics Carnival is fast approaching and the students have been very busy practising for all the events including running, relays, long jump, triple jump and throws.  Training for the Cross Country has also started.

The hot weather has made our practices a little tricky at times but we are hoping for slightly cooler weather for the actual carnivals.

Our Athletics Carnivals are held over three days.  Tuesday the 15th March is when our jumps, throws and 1000m events are held.  This is for Years 1-6.  Wednesday the 16th March is our Junior Carnival (Years 1-3) and Thursday 17th March is our Senior Carnival (Years 4-6).  Our new faction captains have been hard at work helping set up Sports Practice and encouraging the rest of their faction members.

We have had fantastic support for the sponsorship of the medals and would like to thank those businesses and families for their support. Medals are awarded to the Champion Boy and Girl and Runner-Up Champion Boy and Girl in each year level.  Our Championship events (events where points are given to the first 4 places) include the 1000m, Long Jump, Triple Jump (Years 5-6 only), Throwing and the Sprints.

These events rely on the support of our Parent Helpers.  Without your support, the day would not run smoothly.  Help is required on all three days - jobs include Ribbon Distributors, Judges, Marshals, Recorders and Jump ‘Measurers’.  Mrs Mather would love to hear from you if you are available to help in any of these positions, for times that are suitable for you.

Parent helpers are also needed for the canteen. Please contact Janice at the Canteen.

Who will be this year's winning faction?  Will it be Challenger (Blue), Cygnet (Yellow), Parmelia (Green) or Success (Red)?
