School Banking is coming to Castletown

School Banking Program Account Opening Day

Castletown Primary School will be commencing the School Banking Initiative in association with the Commonwealth Bank. The program is about how often your child makes deposits, not how much they deposit. To encourage regular savings behaviour the program offers an exciting Rewards Program. Every deposit earns your child a Dollarmites token, and once they’ve collected 10 tokens they can redeem them for a reward. The rewards available during 2016 include Flying Snake Tail, Wildlife Writer Set, Mud Splat Handball, Outback Pat Bag Tag, Backtrack Eraser Pen, Jump and Skip Rope, Bush Fly Fan and Wriggly Glow Worm.

A representative of the bank will be visiting the school next Monday, 25th July, to allow students to open accounts. All new accounts opened on the day will receive a Platybank and a special gift. If you are unable to make it to this day you are still able to open an account by dropping into the Commonwealth Bank on Andrew Street and asking to open an account in association with the school.

IMPORTANT: In order to open an account you will need to bring along the student’s birth certificate to act as identification together with your current driver’s licence or another form of photographic identification.
School banking will commence on Friday the 29th of July at the canteen area between 8:15 and 8:45am, with banking continuing weekly every Friday. Deposits can be of any amount with even ten cents being sufficient to earn a token. We do ask however that a maximum amount of $15 is deposited at school each week. Deposits can be made directly at the Commonwealth branch, however these do not qualify for school banking tokens.
